First Classes to Be Engaged with Classrooms for the Future Concepts
Some 9th grade English classes of Mrs. Elizabeth Morris were the first classes to experience beginning an online wiki assignment on Shakespeare. One of the laptop carts was wheeled into her classroom for the first time on January 23rd, just a little over a week after the install team spent a long but exciting day unboxing and processing our equipment.
Students could be heard exclaiming, "cool", "awesome", "it's fun to work this way", "we love this in our classrooms", and..."can we work on this again tomorrow?"
It's a new learning experience for everyone and Classrooms for the Future enables students in the core subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies and English to be more engaged in the learning experience and our CFF teachers are learning how to be 21st Century teachers and facilitators of this exciting classroom experience.
Crestwood High School will soon have 19 classrooms of the future where tools like laptop carts, Promethean interactive white boards, LCD projectors and cameras will become the norm and we hope that this experience will grow into all of the classrooms eventually.
Classrooms for the Future is a state-funded competitive grant that Crestwood was awarded for the 2008/2009 school year.
